Music at Home!
Listening to the music of one’s youth has been shown to be helpful in relieving some of the neuropsychiatric symptoms of dementia, such as depression, apathy, anxiety and agitation. Pomfret Public Library has headsets available for you to personalize and use at home.
The Alive Inside Memory Player is designed for easy and safe use by people living with dementia.
Create a playlist of 20-30 favorite songs (MP3 files), and then use your computer or phone to transfer the playlist to the headset.
